Hosts: Sisk/Irish

We are pleased to tell you that we will have COA Mexican restaurant catering our dinner this year.  Because of this, we really would like to have an idea of how many people COA will need to serve.  We are asking for you to RSVP, so we can give them an approximate count.

We really encourage all of you to plan to be at this meeting / dinner on the 3rd.   This is what we have planned:

  1. Of course our meeting.  Where you will be informed of our financial situation.   You will see what events are planned for next year, including who has volunteered to fill our open board positions for 2019.  This is a great time for all members to be informed and to ask any questions.
  2. As mentioned above, Dinner provided by COA Mexican Restaurant.
  3. COA will be providing a “Fajitas Bar” with Carne Asada Steak and Chicken; with all the fixings.
  4. We will have an “Open Bar”, serving Margaritas, Beer & Wine.
  5. All above for a low price of $15 per person.

Christmas Boat Parade @ SYC CLubhouse and Dock
Dec 8 @ 5:00 pm – 11:00 pm

Hosted by Mitch & Jill Ruth

The theme this year is “Christmas in LaConner”. I will leave exactly what that means up to you. Get creative! Let’s make this year’s parade bigger, brighter and more festive than ever!

This years lighted boat parade will take a little different twist.”. We have the opportunity to partner with local businesses for the decorating of the boats. This however is completely optional. Given how important economically this event is to the local businesses, this is a great opportunity to not only grow participation and community excitement for the event, but to build better relationships with the community as well.

If you would like to be paired up with a local business, simply email me your request and I will partner you with a local business. Several, including the port/marina have already come forward asking to participate.

Please, to avoid confusion, do not individually seek out businesses; I will directly contact the local businesses and develop the list for pairing. If you have a special request of a specific business, please share that with me and I will do my best to accommodate your request.

For those wishing to be paired up; I will leave the fine details of “teamwork” and decorating, etc. for each team to work out. I would request that those who partner with local businesses please consider allowing some sort of banner or identifying signage on the boat.

Here’s the schedule for Saturday, 12/8/2018;

12:00 pm; Clubhouse decorating and set-up, Volunteers and ideas for decorating the club house welcomed!
3:00 pm ; Decorating on the guest and reciprocal docks
5:00 pm; Mandatory Captains meeting/ Safety briefing in the clubhouse
6:00 pm; Parade down the channel

Immediately following the parade; Potluck, beverages and music in the SYC Clubhouse

This is a big event that the whole town gets up for, as it brings a lot of people into town. The entire boardwalk along the water is full, as are the restaurants. Let’s light up those boats!!!
