Photo Contest

Hey all you photographers out there.  How about sharing some of those boating images you have been taking during the year?   Send them in for the 2009 SYC Photo Contest.  The pictures don't have to be from SYC events but can be of any scene while out on the boat.  So, get those pictures off the camera and send them in!

We will be awarding prizes at the end of the year for the best pictures as judged by the "Photo Contest Judges" 

Photo Contest Rules:  

1.  All SYC Club Members and their families are eligible to enter as many photos as they wish.  Photos should be "boating" oriented, i.e. scenery, fishing, boats, diving, crew members, or any other on the water activity.

2.  All photos must have been taken during 2009.

3.  All photos must be sent via email to: photocontest@swinomishyachtclub.org  Please include the photographer's name, date & time picture was taken, picture location, and a brief description of the image. 

4.  All photos must be digital and should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared.  Photos cannot be digitally altered beyond standard optimization for color, contrast, brightness and sharpness.  Also acceptable is the removal of dust and scratches, cropping, and black & white conversions. Not acceptable is the use of artistic digital filters and effects.

5.  The final date for submitting photos via email will be December 1st, 2009.  Winners will be announced around December 15th, 2009.

6.  Photographs will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact and artistic merit. All decisions by the judges will be final and binding.

7.  Prizes will be awarded as follows:

    1st Place    -  Picture used as cover for 2010 year book, bottle from the top shelf
    2nd Place   -  Picture of the Month on website, bottle from the well
    3rd Place    -  6 pack

Note:  All prizes will be age appropriate.

Board Meeting

The June 20th Board of Directors meeting will be held during the Steak Fry Event at the Deer Harbor.  Time of the meeting will be announced at the event.  All Club members are invited.
